The Charter of Human Responsibilities is an international process for debate and sensibilization on the value of responsibility. It is a network uniting individuals and organizations (environmental associations, journalists’ unions, groups for non violent action, etc.), from 16 countries, in every continent.
The team working for the Charter in Western Europe is coordinated by « Polis » and develops actions in three countries: Italy, France and Greece.

Who are we?
The non-governmental-organization “Polis - International Network in Environmental Education” (Polis-INEE) has been created in May 1994 by an international group of activists and researchers in the field of Environmental Education, thanks to the backing of “ Charles Léopold Mayer Foundation for the Progress of Humankind ”, a Swiss-registered foundation (FPH). It is coordinated from Greece and comprises more than three hundred members from more than sixty countries. These include a few agencies (public and private) and persons who come from a great variety of disciplines and professions: teachers, facilitators, researchers, civil servants, agronomic engineers, urban planners, students, etc. Polis is a nonprofit organization under Greek law. Its action is aimed at promoting the work of people and organizations active in the field of Environmental Education by the exchange of their experiences; promoting international collaboration on mutual aid for our actions as educators; promoting research and action for Environmental Education.
