I am very happy to be participating in this group. For the first time I'm part of a forum where we can speak with people of several languages, giving me a sensation of integration for a world indeed without borders.

My interests are dedicated to youth and the so-called third sector. I am dedicated to several projects for the set up of juvenile organizations in Brazil, in the federal, regional and municipal scales. I have participated in several meetings and seminars on this topic since I was 20 years old, when I did my university studies in Barcelona. It was there where I realized that I should participate actively in the construction of a united world.

In Brazil there are many difficulties and social inequality is enormous. At the same time, I have the optimism to believe that from here, or Latin America, or Africa, will come innovative forms of social conviviality and experiences of solidarity.

Too many times I read something about a mistaken vision from European countries or from the USA, with reports having good intentions, but using old paradigms to solve our problems.

I believe that the globalization of the peoples, with the solidarity for just one world without borders, is the only way out. We already have many ideas and efforts in our respective countries, so we all need just to become friends. The environmentalists, and their discourse of "act locally and think globally" reached, in my opinion, the definition of what it should be done: to understand globalization not only through bad market aspects but also in the virtues of a world supported by reciprocity. This is what some call a GLOCAL attitude.

I would like to say that I loved to know about the persons that have been introducing themselves.

Big hugs, for a world without borders,

Marcelo Estraviz
