Introduction of Joan INGLADA
Joan INGLADA
Wednesday, October 30, 2002 10:50 AM

I am 57 years old and I am Catalan. I carried out technical studies and humanities and I am an administrative employee in the industry. I participate in several local and international associations. My current preferences are the philosophy for Peace, the eradication of Poverty, Freedom as no-dominance, the safeguard of diversity, especially cultural diversity which I believe is the only human diversity that we should preserve. My website http://idd00x69.eresmas.net/.

I am vice-president of the Associació Catalana d'Esperanto (Catalan association of Esperanto) http://www.esperanto-ct.org, I am also a member of the Association Renta Básica (Association of the Universal Salary Network) Network http://www.redrentabasica.org. I am a collaborator of the Conference of Peace promoted by Elkarri http://www.elkarri.org that yesterday, 26/10/2002, which presented the definitive conclusions of this process, in the Palacio Euskalduna of Bilbao (Basque Country, West Europe).

My thought: More than ever it is clear that the primordial characteristic is diversity, which is why we need to promote individual development. If we don't safeguard diversity, the human culture will end up in uniformity, with consequent impoverishment for the human species. Have a look to http://sapir.ling.yale.edu/~elf/ and http://www.helsinki.fi/~tasalmin/europe_index.html

Another characteristic is that of the social being. The theory of personal growth is a very rich one. Such growth is related to the real environment, society, and giving and receiving reciprocally. To be able to cohabitate in society while safeguarding diversity, that is, without interfering arbitrarily in the space of the others - persons or groups - we need to be in the place of the others to understand them, besides having a political system that guarantees the freedom as no-dominance.

According to all this, I believe in the necessity of the eradication of Poverty, according to ethical principles and because poverty is a place of recruitment for armed conflicts. To get Peace, a dialogue is also necessary that needs from respect to cultural Diversity, that's why Esperantists propose linguistic democracy through speaking a neutral language that requires the effort of all humans the use of a language bridge to which we will appeal to understand others as well as to be understood.

I believe that we need a World Government in order to make all this possible, so I find well to begin to work for a Parliament.

Sincerely,
Joan Inglada
