Greetings to all, my name is Simon-Olivier Côté, I am 23 years old and I am
student in the university in environmental geography. I reside in Montreal,
Canada, and I have traveled a lot these last years and I lived in Asia a few
times. I belong to several non governmental organisms among them the YMCA,
Club 2/3, Equiterre, ATTAC, etc and also of the Continental Social Alliance. I
work within these organisms as an agent of sensitization with a volunteer
status. Otherwise I believe firmly in the voluntary implication. My fields of
interests are centered on the environment and the sustainable development but
I am also opened to all others social and political topics. I was subscribed
on the forum since already the beginning and I find that all the participants
have a good vision of a world parliament. I am very honored to make the
electronic acquaintance of all participants. Although I believe that we could
be represented more by people of Asia, The language being surely an obstacle,
I am sure that more of them will come soon.
The values that have been discussed until now reflect an united world and
without injustice. I like a lot the concept of Ci-terrestrialship. Solidarity
being a crucial point and as far as I know a mass social movement concerning
this point is rising and I wish that it will stay for long. I am very
optimistic facing the future even though people around me they are not always,
and that’s why I decided to make the sensitization to allow them to come out
of their ignorance and in so doing to have a better critical aspect on things
that happens in the world.
I believe what is important at present it is to discuss between us, to make to
be worth our points of view and to try to build a world parliament that will
answer the needs and values of all and each one. It will be necessary to
inform the population with innovative means, specially in north America.
I am a Canadian and I live in abundance and I am persuaded that the problem
begins here and that the efforts of sensitization must be developed in a
participative perspective, that means to give the tools to the public so that
they inquire by their own and no to impose them our way to see the things. I
will try to develop more on my concept of sensitization when the time will
come.
I wish you all a good forum and I am pleased to read you.
