Introduction of Duncan GRAHAM

From Duncan Graham,

This group, a small corresponding world network, was formed 25 years ago with a monthly newsletter "The Purple Dawn" . Its proposal for a route to a governed world of peace and justice for the Nation of Humanity, the Brotherhood and Sisterhood of Humankind, is for a World Parliamentary Conference made up of participants from present political constituencies of approx 10 million with small nation states included. That is sub-national or mega-cities with larger states or federated states or regional arrangements. Electronic weighted voting would ensure a democratic equation. Agenda would be set by the assembly. Total funding essential but not impossible. The route via reform of the United Nations seems barren and lost in the nation-state syndrome especially with present direction of USA. Popular people assemblies have their role in highlighting the concept of a planetary community and the need for a planetary society. The Parliamentary Confederation of the Americas grew from this representative style and last fall set up a committee to explore a Parliamentary Conference of the World.
