It refers to International treaty-based forums like the UN and the World
Trade Organization (WTO) set up in the name of the world community. but now
giving priority often to domestic party, powerful economic, military or
sectarian interests. Governments compete to pass laws * conducive to
business interests* , lest voters discard the government that discourages
capital inflow and regulates interests of global corporations for social or
environmental reasons.
Remedy seekers include ISPO, the International Simultaneous Policy
Organization (web site www.simpol.org). ISPO advisers help to co-ordinate
its members' discussions of responsible multilateral legislation proposals,
and to advise and help monitor governments.
