To establish a grassroots co-operative economy instead of thinking about reforming global institutions
Gary ALEXANDER
Tuesday, December 10, 2002 12:01 AM

We can talk indefinitely about how we should reform the United Nations or the WTO and other international institutions, but in practical terms we don't have the power to do so. What we do have the power to do is set up grassroots approaches to self-governance. We can begin to create a co-operative economy based upon linked local co-operative groups. It is this image of a linked society, with people supporting each other not competing each other which we need to grow, in the hope that it will ultimately replace the current system.

Regards,
Gary
