Re: What should the WP be?

Dear Rob, personally, I am unable to answer all these questions of organization.

I think that it is very difficult to decide on such decisions, as long as one doesn't know what will be the ideological foundation dominating this World Parliament. Certainly, the popular representation is imperative, for not to turn in nepotism and political favoritism.

Certainly, ICT will help information to circulate there where before was inaccessible.

But Rob, just the work of reading all the contributions that come in my mailbox, every week! and then, facing this stream of words and concepts, I have the impression that I don't understand all, or at least that the final aim remains unclear...

I believe that the urgency of producing at any price a model of Parliament that could become so quickly operative, is a technocratic mistake.

I don't have today alternative solutions for proposing a simpler architecture. But, I believe that it is necessary to train first to operate an efficient and permanent political watch. For this we don't need to hesitate in engaging real editors or web-journalists with good writing ability for to describe in not much words the important phenomena on which to act or to react.

Indeed, if each Earth citizen is receiving each week thousands of words informing them of the present injustices, how can them mobilize their energy, their intellect, their time and their ethical sense on the long term? Do exist other means of motivating them, and encouraging them to get more involved, than an action so abstract and distant from their daily life? they won't be satisfied for a very long time if, as return to their personal investment, they just receive other e-mails congratulating them for their voluntary participation! There is a big risk of asphyxia in their mind!!! So, what kind of participation are we talking about? With what kind of citizens? There is something unrealistic in all this! We are daily flooded by torrents of information, so it is necessary to know how to distill this raw material and to create an immediate and accessible sense for all. This is the challenge in our society of information and communication, and this should be our rule number 1!

With all my sincere encouragements,

Marie-Christine
