Historical weekend
Jean-Marc FLAMENT
Wednesday, 19 February 2003 19:39:41

ººº Abstract: This weekend appears historic to me because the populations of the world proved their union at the moment where the governments showed their dissension. The humankind can lets itself be conducted and fall again in the old trap of nationalism or instead of this, it can become necessary as the ultimate decision-maker. We can organize ourselves like a gigantic world resistance network. It is better to bring some unworthy heads down than to let them to massacre the innocent populations. To highlight the pre-eminence of the importance of the population over the heads. The potential of destruction of the most powerful countries cannot be let in hands of mindless people. ººº

The demonstrations for the peace gathered in the world this weekend close to 20 million participants.

The polls show that public opinions are held massively behind these citizens and non behind the governments that advocate the war.

The fact that the hugest demonstrations took place in Spain, in Italy and in Great Britain, that is to say in the countries most expeditious to follow servilely to the United States, let think that there is still a strong reserve of mobilization in the countries to which no effort of war is asked and in the countries that have already took position in favor of the peace.

This weekend appears an historical one to me because the populations of the world proved their union to the very moment where the governments showed their dissension.

The next days to come will be crucial. The Bush administration and the governments that is following it can renounce to this war and we can restart to speak of WP in a spirit of dialogue and of understanding or they can persist in their warrior and anti-democratic intentions and they force us to react.

In this case, it is the citizen humankind that is at the crossroads of its future. It can let be conducted, as it has been in the past, and fall again in the old trap of nationalism, or it can become the ultimate decision-maker, accomplishing the real etymology of the word * democracy *.

We are enough people and we can use Internet. We can be organized therefore like a world level gigantic network of resistance.

We can send to all mailing lists in very few time this following slogan, translated in all languages:

* It is worth better to bring some unworthy heads down that to let them massacre the innocent populations *

The watchword would be then to place and to stick up this slogan everywhere, on e-mail, on the posters, in the public places, in the correspondence, so that every neighborhood, every village, every individual is invited at least once to ask the question of its relevance. Of course, the non democratic powers will remove this slogan and will attempt to stop the * stickers of posters * but they could act discreetly and the places where to place the slogans are too numerous that to be able to be all supervised.

The idea is to highlight the pre-eminence of importance of the population over the heads and therefore to affirm the right of the populations to see their determination respected. The idea is also to create a pre-insurrectionary climate and to provoke the civil disobedience of those that the dictatorial powers use to sit their domination.

One can hope that some failings in the coercive system and the ubiquity of this slogan will provoke within the non democratic governments a beneficial discussion.

Otherwise, a general strike could still be organized in the countries involved in order to entail their paralysis and their government's resignation.

If this would be not enough, the slogan could still be executed. It is a pity, but the potential of destruction of the most powerful countries cannot be let in hands of mindless people, that are ready to act by force. It is the humankind's survival that depends on this.
