Marie Martin-Pecheux, Rob and all,
Unless I have been missing something in the news over the last 3 months.
It would appear that the community of Ideas has been heard. You will probably never again in your life see a more uniformed universal agreement to prevent a war.
There is even agreement among many that will accept the war in principle.
If we are suggesting that the WP can make a difference. We need to know why such a unified voice is not a substantial voice for reason. There is nothing cultural about life and death. Starving and medical care. Poverty and despair.
The reason this war issue cannot be resolved, will be the same reason all other human issues will not be resolved.
If we ourselves cannot come to an understanding of what is happening right now.
If we ourselves cannot agree among ourselves, with our motives and opinions being probably the most humanitarian then any others in the world.
What is it that we can possibly expect to create that will?
My point Marie is I agree with all that you have said. That Rob has said and a number of others in the forum. All such physical structures I believe are fine. But defining the method of resolution of conflict and how win win situations can be obtained and what will guide those resolves is the first test of a system that will be universally accepted.
If we cannot create a method of resolve among ourselves, how can we possibly expect to create unity and resolve among others? What should be the criteria set within the bounds of dispute resolution? What are the elements? In a sense, what are the rules for engagement at the dispute level?
I would propose a discussion of what that means. Any human rights issue would be fine.
Starvation, poverty, human rights, War what ever. What exactly are the elements and how should they be dealt with?
I am interested on opinion on this issue. What would you suggest?
Regards, Frank
