Jean-Marc FLAMENT wrote * The fight for a WP should now be focused in the fight for peace *. I disagree. Should not the fight for a WP be a fight for all peoples of the world to cast votes for a representative government? Is not a World Parliament impossible without all, or at least most, of the world's people's having this basic right to representation?
Now, if Saddam Hussein will not permit his people to elect representatives, how can we gain this right for their peoples? Thus, is not the United States, by creating an Iraqi democracy laying the foundation for what we are all working towards?

P.S. As for the US attack not being permitted under international law, UN Security Council Resolution 678, acting under Chapter VII of the UN Charter, explicitly authorizes all member States to use * all necessary means to enforce all previous and subsequent resolutions regarding Iraq.* Resoultion 678 thus authorized the coalition attacks on Iraq's weapons in 1991, 1993, and 1998. UN Security Council resolution 1441, which was passed unanimously by the Council explicitly states that it is a * subsequent resolution * to 678. Thus, I hope that we can drop the subject of the *legality* of the US attack, since the case is clearly open-and-shut.
