Re: Guerre en Iraq

Dear Wolfgang, and all,
I have talked with you as well as Jean-Marc, outside the forum. You of all
people should be able to put things as far as media in their proper
perspective. You read and write English so you can clearly see what is
happening in the American media. And if you get CNN and Fox news you also
know we receive in our media the Arab, French and Europeans news translated.
There has not been nor do I believe there ever will be a claim in our media
that somehow the Iraqi people are uncultured or illiterate. Those claims are
only being made in European and Arab countries. Your media is saying that
the Americans are saying that but like most of the information from Europe
on this issue it is simply not true. In this case all you have to do is
watch the American media to validate it. It is unfortunate that the rest of
the claims made by Europe media are not as easy to prove false. If it were
there may in time be a chance for real communication.
Irregardless of that, let's consider your other statement. Truly not much
different then President Bush's statements. A demand for force and control.
Quote *Let us ensure that this uncivilised attack will not succeed!* What do
you suggest, maybe another War? And what are you defending? Terrorism,
dictatorships, torture, What?
I would as an American suggest. If you and Europe really don't want the
United States to deal with the problems in the Middle East. That you do
it...
But doing it means the United States will suffer no more attacks against its
people. I would strongly recommend you do that. People of your opinion are
really in trouble now. Syria has no oil... Tell me where is the financial
gain this time? Could it possibly be terrorism, maybe the threat to American
lives? you think?
This is precisely the type of problem the WP will have to deal with. False
claims distorted media and mind bending. There is nothing in what you have
said that has the potential to do anything but create war. A WP must look to
the problem and solve it, Terrorism is the issue here, and the only way any
other claim can even be considered, is if that one is removed. And in that
terrorism means the loss of life it should be at the top of our list along
with starvation and the lack of proper health care.
Best Regards,
Frank Houck
