Please let me introduce myself

My name is Bryan Kirby from Zambia I have been following this debate for some time with keen interest. My work is on the Internet and renewable energy sources. I can no longer keep myself from responding.

I just read the article by Frank Houck, who wants others to see what he is saying but will not hear. I see the American Govt as the biggest opponent to a World Parliament, they would no longer be the goliath they are now, with a more united world they would not be the total power they are now, we in the third world countries are more scared of America and what America can do to the rest of the world in its wild pursuit of wealth and abundance in the face of starvation and poverty. We are adversely effected by American foreign policies. Most Americans never leave America (Bush is a fine example)hence the low level of understanding others.

To avenge 9/11 you went and attacked Afghanistan, then Iraq, next probably Syria and Russia and if you have the courage North Korea, China could be next. So a few terrorists have now initiated the start of a war that will never end, your war solution will only cause more terrorist actions surely you can see that. Breeding hatred. If Goliath were after David and a collateral damage bomb happened to kill a child of mine, then I would most certainly arm myself with a bomb and look to revenge my child death any way I could (like America). But the fact remains that I would be wrong for doing so, it would serve humanity better to find the root of the problem that caused such barbaric acts and try to resolve them. Why did 9/11 happen? When things get so bad that there is nothing to lose. Surely it happened because of bad American foreign policy that has affected the lives of millions of people and a lot more people have died indirectly as a result of this foreign policy than in the 9/11 disaster.

Now, this world parliament should be formed so that there is a representation of people in the policies implemented. How many people in America are even aware what their foreign policies are and what effects they have on others?

Why would Europeans forget and Americans never? Are they so bent on revenge that they cannot see the trees for the forest. You start a war that will breed more 9/11's, surely an intelligent person like you can see this? You breed terrorism with vengeance. The Middle East is a prime example of this, you hit me, I hit you and so like children we continue to reek vengeance and so breed more acts of violence in reprisal.

When are we all going to grow up? Where's the vengeance for 500,000 children who died because of sanctions imposed on Iraq??? 9/11????

The Americans can't stop living that horror? So you impose a similar but far more devastating scenario for others and casually say they will forget? I don't think so!

Sorry Frank, but this WP should form on the basis that it will attempt to represent and share equally the views of all residents of this globe and not cater to the power hungry and vengeful Americans seeking to satisfy their huge appetite for resources to feed only their own people.

Sorry to enter discussions with such passion, will try to be more constructive next time.

Warm wishes to all
Bryan
