WP and UN

Thank you moderators, for this article by Roger Dittmann. This is all in line with what we are aiming for if..... we decide to tie ourselves to the fate of the United Nations. Are we aware of the powers that are going to frustrate our efforts? Are we willing and able to rescue the UN from those who hold her to ransom? Do we have a hope in hell that we can give her to whom she was promised: to "Us, the People"? We cannot even say that we want to return the UN to the People, because the People never had her to begin with.

This is an important point to be decided within our own virtual community and it leads me to the following conclusion. Roger Dittmann wrote:

>> (...)The legitimacy of the Parliament will depend upon the process of credentialing IPDOs, but more critically upon the organization of representative IPDOs.(...)<<

We, as the initiators of a World Parliament must hold to ourselves the power to say whether it is worth spending our energy on teaming up with the UN on the basis of THEIR credentials, or whether such association would be like flogging a dead horse. There must be equal terms of negotiation. It cannot be the almighty UN (relative to the embryonic World Parliament) calling the shots in 'requirements' for credibility. The UN may set its requirements, but we must set our own!

I applaud Mr. Dittmann's efforts, and he is so right about the need for us to be organized. But I think for the moment we have to worry about the credentials we wish to gather for ourselves as a movement, without having to worry about the lost credentials of the UN. Until we feel strong enough to face the battle of bureaucracy, we must build up strength and test this strength among ourselves.

With warm regards, Marielle
