Greetings,
Firstly, I never heard before that our 50 states of America are sovereign entities. Rather all states of America are controlled by the U.S. Supreme Court. Hence, it is one entity, divided into lesser regions. They were never independent except briefly during the Civil war in 1865. This is stated in every political science textbook. On the other hand, it is a unique phenomenon that the EU was created.
There are concerns about the EU, however. I have heard from my personal friend in Italy that the EU has also become exploitative. Italy has been compelled by EU to stop certain agricultural and dairy productions and is now compelled to purchase those items from other EU countries. For whose benefit??? Not the Italians' benefit. In other words, EU has been created by very wealthy capitalists to ultimately serve the purposes and benefit of their own vested interests. I wonder if any of you follow the activities of the Bilderberg group - which just had a meeting in France, where there was obvious growing animosity between US and European members due to the escalating struggle between the two for global economic hegemony. The Bilderberg is a group that would like to create and control a 'new world order'. It is to be reckoned with.
Regrettably, the United Nations was created by wealthy capitalists, and the EU also was created by wealthy capitalists, on the surface for beneficial purposes but underneath it is for the benefit of and control by a few wealthy men in Europe. The arrogance of US government was unmatched in its ignoring the UN Security Council to get control of Iraq's oil fields. UN was rendered completely impotent. Now US is once again (now that they have the oil fields in their control) cleverly sitting down in the UN building and dictating the new Resolutions to be passed concerning Iraq - ensuring of course that the oil is theirs. The greater tragedy is that the tremendous global protests that took place before the invasion have nearly come to a standstill.
This is just one of hundreds of reasons why creation of a world parliament and constitution is critical. How can we create a world government that is controlled by the simple ordinary people of this world - and not by the wealthy powerful capitalists who do presently control the world?
