It's DEMOCRACY, boys

Dear all

I wish insistently advocate for including the word DEMOCRACY in the name of the party. If I understand correctly the situation, we are for "the building of systems of politic democratic representation in every scale where public decisions must be taken". Therefore, the word DEMOCRACY is unavoidable independently of the form it will adopt (DEMOCRATIC-DEMOCRACY). (In any case, I think WORLD DEMOCRACY PARTY -the party for a WD- is the better option, because DEMOCRATIC would put us in the sphere of US democrats -this is the worst moment for this, I guess- and would also suggest that the we have the monopoly of Democracy whereas we are just the first that insist this way for a World Democracy).

The word CITIZEN is, in my opinion, too weak and soft. It can be easily confounded with a cultural meaning (cosmopolitan, open-minded, pluri-cultural, etc.); all of them perfectly respectable but which do not express our very goal. Besides Citizens of the World and similars are perfectly compatible, in the social imaginary, with the current GLOBAL GOVERNANCE and the rhetoric of the new enlightened despotism.

As we are speaking on POLITICS (and not in culture) and we are invoking a concrete political technology for governing global affairs, the term is DEMOCRACY. I suggest that our justified prejudgement on politicians should not affect our judgements on Politics.

The best

Fernando
