Extreme diversity of doctrine needed in a WP initiative
John EWBANK

(f. n. I am copying here, with permission of John Ewbank, some extracts of a personal letter that he send to me recently)

(.) Because the constituency of the WP list has enthusiasm for the World Party concept, my propensity within the WP list is to step aside and let the stampede run its course, notwithstanding my analysis that it is more of a time waster than hundreds of other alternatives

I am grateful for the manner in which Doug Everingham and Marielle Jansen have encouraged Sociocracy as a long term solution. I favor top down decentralism, and contend that it could create the environment in which sociocracy [bottom up decentralization could better flourish.

WP21 problems arise significantly from its arrogance of acting as if it were the only WP group instead of recognizing that it is one of many Internet WP projects,. If money is to be spent, then it should be spent, not on any "denomination " of WP, but on a suitable Website analogous to the "Quaker.org" that cherishes extreme diversity among extremely conflicting doctrines.

Anyone interested in WP, like anyone interested in Quakerism, needs to cherish extreme diversity of doctrine, regardless of how great might be their enthusiasm for a particular doctrine. The implied assumption that the alliance 21 Website one WP was the only WP Website has been the primarily criticism of the project (.)
